ISET’s resident faculty member, Dr. Lasha Chochua, recently participated in the 40th Congress of the European Economic Association (EEA) – one of the most prestigious academic gatherings for economists in Europe. The event was hosted by the Bordeaux School of Economics in France and brought together leading scholars and researchers to discuss cutting-edge economic research and pressing global challenges.
During the congress, Dr. Chochua presented his research paper titled: “Tariff Cuts, Uncertainty Reduction, and the Force of Many: The Impact of Plurilateral Agreements.” His work explores the implications of plurilateral trade agreements, focusing on how tariff reductions, mitigation of uncertainty, and coordination shape international trade dynamics.
The EEA Congress serves as a vital platform for exchanging ideas, fostering collaboration, and advancing the field of economics. With hundreds of participants representing diverse institutions of Europe, the congress provided an excellent opportunity for ISET to share its academic contributions on the global stage.
