ISET has launched Open Horizons, a new seminar series dedicated to exploring ideas across science, culture, and society. The series aims to broaden perspectives beyond economics by bringing speakers from diverse academic and intellectual fields, including archaeology, history, literature, natural sciences, and philosophy. Designed for a general audience, the seminars are open to ISET students, faculty, staff, and friends, with talks held in either Georgian or English.
The inaugural seminar took place on October 29, featuring Dr. Ana Mgeladze, Archaeologist, Anthropologist, and Professor at Free University of Tbilisi. She delivered a lecture titled “The Place of the Human Being in the Evolution of Life,” exploring humanity’s place in the broader context of life’s evolution through archaeological and anthropological perspectives.
Through Open Horizons, ISET seeks to create opportunities for intellectual exchange across disciplines and to encourage curiosity about questions that extend beyond the boundaries of any single field of study.
