On Monday, October 13, ISET students gathered at the Mzia Mikeladze Auditorium for an inspiring information session on the Khidi Project, a transformative volunteer initiative connecting ISET students with high schoolers from the Pankisi region.
Launched in 2019 by the MAC Foundation, with ISET as a core partner, the Khidi Project – meaning “bridge” in Georgian – aims to bridge educational gaps by providing online tutoring in English and Math. ISET students dedicate one to two hours weekly, empowering rural students who may lack access to additional academic support. This initiative not only strengthens academic skills but also fosters meaningful connections across regions.
The information session featured presentations from organizers and testimonials from past participants, offering insights into the project’s impact and the rewarding experience of volunteering. Attendees learned about the project’s structure, the commitment involved, and the profound difference they could make in a student’s life.
Beyond tutoring, the Khidi Project emphasizes community and collaboration. Each year, ISET tutors visit Pankisi for an in-person experience, and Khidi tutees are invited to attend ISET’s graduation ceremony, celebrating the bonds formed through this project.
The Khidi Project embodies ISET’s commitment to social responsibility, bridging gaps in education and connecting students across regions to create a brighter, more inclusive future.
